All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be Blade that was Broken, The crownless again shall be king. Alexander Elessar chieftain of the dúnedain & heir of isildur - Aliases:
-Hawke (His most common alias) -Beriadan (What the Elves call him) -Nightmare Darklight (What the Remnants of Angmar call him) - Race: Human
- Age: 23
- Birthday Season: Summer
- Gender: Male
- Sexuality: Heterosexual
- Alliance: The Dúnedain
- Occupation: Chieftain of the Dúnedain
general - Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
- Personality: Sarcastic and sardonic, Alexander really doesn't seem like someone that you would expect to be royalty. Hell, in truth, you probably couldn't tell from the way he acted that he had actually spent most of his life in Rivendell. Although he's got a sharp blade and a very sharp eye, it could be argued that his tongue is actually the sharpest of them all. He has a line for any situation and an insult primed for anyone around him. He can be quite antagonistic and some might wonder why the Dúnedain actually follow him.
He also has a serious problem with grudges. When Alexander believes that he has been screwed over out of malice, he absolutely will not forget it no matter how much time passes. Whether it is 60 days or 60 years, Alexander will still remember what had happened every single day of those years and will wait patiently to exact whatever vengeance he's cooked up. In that he can be considered ruthless when desiring to be so and can be brutally pragmatic to a fault at times.
However, there is a reason that the rangers follow him. Isildur's Heir aside, Alexander does genuinely care for his rangers, and doesn't needlessly sacrifice their lives for the sake of glory and honor. Rather, he tries to keep them alive and avoids outright conflict with their lives when necessary. Thus when he brings the Dúnedain to the fight, they believe that he does so only because he believes it to be absolutely necessary.
Another part of it is his charisma. Alexander is just by nature quite charming. Perhaps it's from his time spent in Imladris, but Alexander has an excellent understanding of the various cultures of Middle-Earth along with an appreciation for the finer things in life, which, contrasting with his appearance, tends to make him strangely appealing and charming. Of course, Alexander uses this to his advantage when he believes it will help.
As for his nature as Isildur's Heir, Alex is actually quite hesitant on the matter. When he came of age, he had learned of his true heritage and left Imladris to lead the rangers. He is confident in his ability to lead the Dúnedain, but they are merely rangers. To him, running an entire nation, much less being the heir to a massive kingdom, is another beast entirely, and he's a bit hesitant to move towards that destiny. Right now, he's happy as the Chieftain. - Appearance: Alexander's build and appearance is something that one would expect of a ranger, most certainly. However, it's not something one would expect of royalty. Standing at an even six feet, Alexander is actually a pretty tall guy, but not the tallest. Noted for having a fair skin tone, Alexander is surprisingly well built from his time in the wild. However, he doesn't exactly have the best grooming. While he is clean shaven, his hair has grown shaggy and unkempt, and his eyes are of a golden color that belie a sense of cunning and ferocity.
When traversing Middle-Earth and all its dangers, Alexander tends to wear a suit of leather armor specifically tailored to meet his form. While it might look malevolent, it's the reason behind his name from the Remnants of Angmar. He uses this to stay hidden in the shadows where he is at his most dangerous, rather than announce himself directly and risk needless danger. Despite this, the armor is highly intimidating, and for creatures like orcs who scare easily, that works just fine. He doesn't wear the helmet that often though, honestly.
That said, Alexander does have the good sense not to wear the armor wherever he goes. Oh no, when he actually goes into the towns and cities of Middle-Earth, at least the civilized ones, he will actually wear clothes. For this, he wears a simple set of clothes. The clothes are fairly simple; a brown tunic with a dark vest over that tunic, pants, boots, and a single right glove. - Secrets
- He's Isildur's Heir
- He possesses the Ring of Barahir
- He has doubts as to whether he's fit ro rule a kingdom
details - Homeland: The Region of Arnor.
- History: Alexander actually doesn't remember his father. When he was just a baby, his father had been killed by pursuing orcs. His mother, not wanting Alexnder to meet the same gruesome end, sent the child to live with the Elves in Rivendell. At her request, she asked that they hide his true heritage from him, so it would never get out that he was Isildur's Heir. Alexander has no clue where his mother is, and doesn't even know if she's alive. Because of this, he mostly assumes that she's dead, but doesn't really try to look for her.
While growing up, Alexander was raised by the Ruler of Imladris under the name "Beriadan." Despite not being an elf, he was accepted as part of Imladris. He was raised in their culture, trained in the ways of war, and came to appreciate the thing that most mortals would have overlooked. However, Beriadan was growing up, and it would only be a matter of time before he reached full adulthood. While his mother had requested his identity be kept safe, she never specified for how long it was to be kept hidden from the fastly growing heir.
That was why, on his 16th birthday, the night when he became an adult, he was pulled aside, and told of his true heritage. He was the heir of Isildur, the king that had fallen to the temptation of Sauron's Ring. Realizing his destiny, Alexander, despite his personality, actually shied away from it, preferring instead to lead the Dúnedain in keeping the north safe from the orcs that would try to raid and destroy the realm of the Free Peoples. Receiving the Ring of Barahir as a birthright, Alexander left Rivendell to assume leadership of the Dúnedain.
And that's where he is now. Seven years later, he has been leading the Dúnedain rangers against the various threats from the North. While he has made mistakes, he has slowly been improvng his capabilities as Chieftain, and his rangers are patient, and ever willing to watch him grow into a fine man worthy of the birthright that falls upon him. - Family/Relatives
