SERENA GREENLEAF | ALIAS Eina. | GENDER Female. | AGE 1918 years old. | RACE Elf. | BIRTH SEASON Autumn. | SEXUALITY Heterosexual. | OCCUPATION Princess of Mirkwood. | ALLIANCE Mirkwood. |
| DETAILS - Alignment: Chaotic Good.
- Personality: Serena is certainly a young woman that knows how to wear many masks. To most, she appears as a demure, polite woman that knows how to traverse most situations with grace and poise. She does not act in a rebellious or upsetting manner before strangers. No, she prefers to act in a much more subtle way to get what she wants out of life. She has perfected her mask of maidenly modesty over the years, and only one that knows her well can see past it. Beneath it, she is a rather passionate woman that wishes she seek her own happiness in the world. Of course, she places such pursuits aside in favor of following her duties as a princess.
She can be a kind and caring woman to those that become close to her. The only person that sees this side of her is her parent and close friends. Serena prefers to remain aloof and dislikes asking others for help when she can do it by herself. Oddly enough, she is not too vain of a person, despite her taste for fine clothing. She is enough of a realist to know that being too arrogant can send her to an early grave, and prefers to be cunning and careful with any plans she has. Honestly, no one ever really knows what goes on behind her polite smile and maidenly manners.
Despite that, she can be a force to be reckoned with when angry. She has pride in being the heiress to her parent's throne and has been raised to know her place and to defend her home and her people. Arrogance does run in anyone of elven lineage, and at times this can show through when interacting with the much shorter lived races. Serena certainly does not mean to come off as holier-than-thou when it occurs, but most of the time she does not unless it is pointed out to her. She can be one to hold grudges when crossed, especially if the betrayal was done to harm her people or anyone she cares for. There is a forgiving nature to her if the one that wronged her has truly repented for their actions or words. Otherwise, she can be one of the more friendly and welcoming elves one will meet. - Appearance: Serena possesses the grace and beauty all elves are known for. Her features are fair and light as many of her immortal kin. Her brown hair is dark in color and of a long length that reaches a little past her waist. Due to the length, she keeps it tied back with ribbon or braid. Beneath her fringe are amber eyes with an almost reddish hue in the right light. An intimidating feature of hers that she likes to use to her advantage on weaker willed individuals. Her skin tone is quite fair, which makes sense since many of her years were spent within the depths of Mirkwood. She stands at a tall height of six feet with a lithe figure from her constant scouting trips along the borders of her parent's kingdom. Gently curved, she is not opposed to using her appearance to her advantage should it suit her.
Her choice of clothing is of a richer variety due to her royal station. Serena prefers clothing that clings to her form for easy movement with detailed fabric and layers. The sleeves are usually long because she likes the shifting of the fabric whenever she moves her arms. Even when in combat, she tends to wear similar outfits but with shorter sleeves to not get in the way of using her bow or sword. - Secrets
- She knows the identity of the Heir of Isildur.
- Wonders if she will ever become a good Queen for her people when the time comes.
- Wishes she could set aside her duties to pursue her wish to wander Middle Earth.
| BACKGROUND - Homeland: Mirkwood.
- History: Serena was born in the Third Age before the shadow of Dol Guldur fell upon Mirkwood. Her childhood is a recollection of hazy memories of a time when there was worry about a darkness beginning to creep across the land. During this time, Sauron's shadow would fall over Greenwood the Great, which earned the forest her current name by man. Her parents' kingdom soon became a haunted place where the elves that dwelt there were soon hard pressed by Sauron as he drove her people northward. Serena can recall being moved from place to place in the attempt to find safety within the familiar boundaries of her kin's home. It seemed there was little time to rest before she was being moved once again. As the heir to the throne, her own life guarded closely than most others. Dark beasts began to populate the once beautiful woods, and eventually her parents had held their ground within the northern borders of their home and build anew. A fortress was built and even the ground below was cut away to build grand halls for the elves to dwell within. This did provide Serena with stability for the first time she could recall, but this part of the forest was patrolled constantly to keep out unwanted beasts and travelers alike that wished to threaten the newly established Northern Kingdom of Mirkwood.
For many years, Serena was raised into a pattern of training and lessons to groom her into a proper heir of Mirkwood. One of her parents had been lost only a couple centuries after she was born, and never did the Ruler of Mirkwood find another spouse. It seemed that she was to be the only one in line to the throne should there come a time her parent passed or abdicated in her favor. Otherwise, much of her life was spent in Mirkwood on patrols to keep out any beasts that attempted to encroach upon the kingdom. At times there would be a foolish traveler she came upon that she would either drive out or help if they were truly well and lost. Serena had been raised to respect the shorter lived race of Men, but she inherited her kin's dislike and distrust of the dwarves. Perhaps she is a little more civil and polite towards them. When she grew old enough, her parent allowed her to travel past the borders of Mirkwood to visit the neighboring Elf outpost known as Rivendell. There she met an elven girl close to her in age, who was also the daughter of the ruler of Rivendell. Her name was Seyka Rozengale, and she formed a close bond with the elven girl. Whenever Serena would make a sojourn to Rivendell, sometimes with her parent for a meeting between them, she would spend time with her. This routine continued onward for quite a few centuries as Serena can recall.
Perhaps one of her most interesting meetings was when she would come across a Ranger in the middle of an orc ambush. Orcs were nothing new to her, so she jumped into the fray and helped the Ranger. During the course of the battle, the two of them had both saved one another's lives. The surprise was when Serena was able to identify the ring he wore as the Ring of Barahir. It meant she had actually helped and met the Heir of Isildur by complete chance. An easy friendship was struck between the two, and she swore that she would not reveal his identity unless he wished it. At times, she would join him and his Rangers on patrols, or simply spend time with him whenever she was on the way to Rivendell. Life has become a comfortable pattern of routine that she has lived with nor nearly two thousand years. Perhaps such routines will change with the passing of days - Family/Relatives
