He normally didn't go this far north. Here they were treading on the edge of Angmar remnants. Still, he'd gotten his volunteers. That was pretty rad. They knew where to go, and hopefully they'd be there soon. Alex watched from the wilderness, his ranger garb concealing him from watching eyes. It was night as he examined the circular, crude wooden palisade erected around the camp. Two Snaga guards guarding the entrance. There were undoubtedly more inside. It seemed like a labor camp more than anything. There would be wolves from the north inside to act as patrols, probably because of people like him. Not that it was much of an issue. From the looks of it, the people that were coming along were indeed professionals at both sword and bow. Mainly because they were all Elves, so they had that age factor working for them. Really, he wasn't sure how much better this could have turned out. They were all archers. It meant that if nothing else, their entrance would probably go unnoticed. Although the fact that one of them was from Mirkwood, where stealth was a prized value, meant they might be able to slip in and wipe the place out before anyone found out they were there. He shuffled slightly, just enough to give away his position to the Elves. He wanted them to formulate a plan before they went in. The Snaga were weak but numbers would be an issue. Plus, Cassandra had joined for their little group, and there was no way he was going to risk her getting caught up in this mess if they raised the alarm. He raised himself, risking a little more movement to notify everyone to come to his position as leaves and twigs brustled. He doubted the Snaga would see or hear, but the Elve had sharp eyes and sensitive ears, he didn't have to worry about them. Hopefully they were nearby, and would congregate before long. Then it would be time for strategy. tags: Lossel , Cassandra Undómiel , Saelnith , Ellorían Aeglos notes: Posting order will be established by who posts first~ stats: 20/20 HP | 00/00 SP

DREAMED OF PARADISE EVERY TIME SHE CLOSED HER EYES Cassandra could not say she had ever ventured this far north before, since she had always been warned against the remnants of Angmar. How could she not volunteer her assistance, though? Estel had been her friend since she had met him years ago, and the two of them did share a distant relationship. Her father had been his great grandsire's brother many centuries past. Such blood ties were not easily forgotten by her people, but she had been repeating these reasons to herself ever since she had set off from Imladris with her sister. Having her sister's familiar presence beside her was a soothing one, since it would help to keep her focused on this mission. She had taken to wearing a dark cloak that was drawn over her moonlit hair to keep herself out of view.
She had left her mare a fair distance away, since this mission would requite the utmost stealth to succeed. Her bow was slung over her shoulder with a quiver of arrows, and her sword rested comfortably on her hip. Cassandra kept her eyes trained into the distance to catch sight of Estel's movements to see where he had hidden himself. It would be rather remiss of her to allow herself to get caught up in her thoughts so carelessly this far into hostile territory. She sent a silent prayer for their entire group to accomplish task unscathed and with success as well.
The slight shifting in the distance caught her senses, and she could see movement as well. It was far too deliberate to be anyone else but her friend. Cassandra walked forward quietly and with purpose to his current hiding place. Her lips were quirked into a slight smile beneath the shadow of her hood as she looked to Estel. "I hope we did not keep you waiting too long," she greeted lightly. 10/10 HP 10/10 SP Let's start~

As if the petals become the wind Saelnith gazed over their quarry. From her high perch, nothing in view escaped her eye. In a tree she sat, a branch held down in front of her. Above and below she was camouflaged with the foliage given to her by the oak. Risky, maybe, but this was an elf with hundreds of years of hiding in trees in her repertoire. She blended in neatly, the only tell being her cat-like orbs that slid side to side as she watched the Snaga guards proceedings. They had a good number over their group of volunteers, but if they fought wisely it wouldn't become an issue. A ways away, a time into her scouting, she heard movement. The human? Alright then. The elf parted from the branches and began her descent. Like a ghost she climbed down; each step carefully placed to not snag on a branch, or cause harm toward the tree. When her feet touched the ground and bent her back downwards and slowly crept forward towards where she had heard the noise come from. Saelnith dropped in a few paces away from him, her arrival announced by the sway of the branches of a bush that she purposefully moved against. Saelnith dipped her head, whether the others saw it or not, and looked from the ground view to get a look at the guards at the entrance. "My apologies. I was getting a better view elsewhere."

Dusk had slowly stretched her shadow-gloved hand across the land, plunging the fortified camp into a restless night. The torches and braziers of the working orcs burned with a dirty light in the darkness, a sickly mockery of the stars above. Their vile mutterings and hushed curses were carried to Lossel's ears by a toothless breeze, yet she fought down her disgust and remained perfectly still and quiet, waiting. It wasn't in her nature to sit and bide her time, but she could do so at a pinch. The others had yet to come, and there was no starting without them. One by one she heard them creeping closer to her hiding place in the hollow tree, carefully listening to the sound of their footfalls. It was a good thing they were upwind of the camp, or the wolves would surely have taken notice of the hated scent of Elf and Man. The Dúnadan was first, of course - fitting, since this was his plan to begin with. Lossel had only arrived so early because word of his venture had reached her at the hidden fort in Esteldín. Enemy forces were said to be gathering in Dol Dínen, and Lossel had aided the Rangers in scouting out the warcamp for weaknesses. Yet it had seemed to her that she might be of more use here, in the endeavor to recapture Athilin. She was still unsure of how wise the plan was. Of all places to begin chipping away at the Enemy's foothold on Eriador, surely the very doorstep of old Angmar was the worst. Lossel could feel it even here in her hollow, a faint watchful malice from beyond the Ram Dúath, a seeing mind that didn't sleep. She suppressed a shiver. No more deliberating. The war-party was assembling, it was time to join them and discuss strategy. Lossel was met with a surprise when she finally crept close enough to be noticed by the Dúnadan and his companions. She hadn't expected to find the Lady of Imladris here, nor -- Lossel's eyes narrowed slightly as she tried to remember -- yes, wasn't that the Princess of the Woodland Realm? Lossel had only spotted her once at Rivendell, but there was no mistaking it. Well, she was certainly a long way from Mirkwood, but Lossel did not begrudge her presence. The archers of Mirkwood were renowned for their keen eyes, and they would be sorely needed here. Lossel's own bow was in her left hand; Acharn rested in its sheath. There would be plenty work for her arrows before the time came to draw swords. "Mae l'ovannen," she muttered, slipping into formality in deference to the heirs of Imladris and the Wood. Her gaze switched over to the Dúnadan. "Angmar's hounds will wake soon. Let us hope the wind keeps a steady course, else our cover may be broken quicker than we should like." tags: Alexander Elessar , Cassandra Undómiel , Saelnith , Ellorían Aeglos stats: 12/12 HP | 10/10 SP

| The rest of the party is assembled by the time she slips in beneath the velvet veneer of the night. The fortress before them mutters with discontent and malice, the low noises of the wolves and orcs carried to her keen ears by the same wind that hid the party's presence, and Ellorían studied it briefly before she dropped her gaze to her companions.
"Lossel is right," she said, nodding towards the other elf. She knew her by reputation and some moments of brief acquaintance, but not much else. It was enough to know that the woman was a good choice to have by her side for this task, however. "We should not linger here. I trust you have a plan already, Dúnadan?"
Ellorían looked at her sister with a clear, steady gaze. She would have preferred to see the Lady of Imladris safe in Rivendell, but she was of the same bloodline as her, the same legacy of greatness. The blood of those who had seen the light of Valinor flowed through their veins and shone bright in the Unseen World, a blazing flame imperishable.
Ellorían was certain neither of them would fall here. Such was not their fate.

There she was. It was really hard to keep his composure around her. Really, quite infuriating, and especially worse if he let others see it. But she was the first, so that was a good sign. Her words rang like soft silver bells in his ears, and he found himself thinking "Far too long." before he realized that he had said that out loud, and in a far more wistful tone of voice than he had intended. Straightening himself for a moment, he tried to smooth things over before it went anywhere. "I mean, wait." But thankfully, the others had come to the rescue, whether they knew it or not. And with his adopted sister's question, well, he was rather happy to be able to steer things away from what would have been an undoubtedly awkward situation. "I do, unless our Silvan friend's eyes have seen something that could jeopardize that plan." And he began to point to two mounds on opposite ends inside the palisade, visible thanks to their position. "Those are alarm pyres, if we're detected, those will be lit if we let any one of them get away. Things will really spiral out of control from there." Naturally the option was that if detected, don't let anyone survive. "So I'm thinking, we split into two groups, move around the palisade, and climb over as quietly as we can where the alarm pyres are. We take out the guards there and try something to disable them. Pouring water over it should work if there's a source nearby. With the pyres a non-issue, we simply keep any bodies we make out of sight, rendevous at the back of the camp, and push towards the entrance. Their numbers should already be thinned, and the element of surprise should make it an easy sweep."He was surprised at how formal he'd made it sound. "Any questions? If not and we're good to go, all that's left is to just determine who goes with who." tags: Lossel , Cassandra Undómiel , Saelnith , Ellorían Aeglos notes: pay no attention to the orange notification :c stats: 20/20 HP | 00/00 SP

DREAMED OF PARADISE EVERY TIME SHE CLOSED HER EYES Cassandra had been quick to catch the appearance of two more elves to join their small group. Her carmine eyes flashed in recognition of the Princess of Mirkwood, since she had seen her on occasion before. The other fair haired elf was unknown to her, but she smiled in greeting all the same. Her formal greeting had her wishing that her appearance was not so easily recognizable among her kind, though. There were times that the elleth wished to wander in anonymity as Estel seemed to do with his rangers. Now was not the time for her brief penchants of wanderlust, though!
"It would be remiss of us to linger here for too long," she murmured in agreement. Just a shift of the wind could call attention to their gathered presence, and she had no wish to get close to Angmar's hounds without cause. Cassandra cast her gaze to Ellorían with a steadfast expression already in place. They had already spoken before about her presence on this mission, but Ellorían was only a little over half a century older than herself. Perhaps she played the role of maiden too well if her own sister was hesitant to allow her to be here. Her attention flickered back to Estel as he explained their course of action.
Two alarm pyres were visible to her eyes once they had been pointed out to her. The last thing their group needed was to alert all of Angmar's creatures of their presence so early on. His plan seemed to be sound enough in her opinion, which left the decision on how to divide their ranks. "Shall we stay together, sister?" she asked lightly. Perhaps it would set her elder sister's mind at ease if she was to remain within eyesight and reach of her. Cassandra would be the first to admit that she most likely had the least fighting experience in comparison to the other elves in their group. Practicing with the guards of her home did not equal a true fight after all.

As if the petals become the wind Saelnith hadn't recognized her coming from behind, but there she was. Indeed, The Lady of Imladris; her eyes couldn't be playing tricks on her this close. It'd been quite some time since she'd laid eyes on anyone from Imladris, not since her first visit years ago. Many of her years had been spent in the dark trees of Mirkwood. The dark weight inside of her heart warmed with the realization that she'd be accompanied by someone familiar on this rare outing of hers. It wasn’t everyday that there was a reason or calling to leave the forest.
There were two more, one that she didn't know by name, and one that she was reminded of when Cassandra had said the word sister: could she be Ellorían, then? This was truly good company. If they weren't about to embark on such a dangerous task, or be on the edge of risking discovery, she would offer a more befitting greeting. Maybe ask if all was well in Imladris. But the archer was getting ahead of herself.
There was a task to be done. With a hand over her heart she looked to Lossel. Her head dipped in greeting before she raised it once more.
"May I ask for your company, Lossel?"
Saelnith thought it prudent to split the elven archers among the two groups for this task. If they wanted to get it done quietly, and without much of a fuss. tags x Lossel *meme time?* HP 15/15 | SP 20/20 MADE BY ★MEULK

One last warrior slipped stealthily into the company's midst, one that Lossel recognised almost immediately. Side by side, there was no mistaking the newcomer and Lady Cassandra for anything other than siblings. This was surely none other than Ellorían Aeglos, bearer of Gil-galad's own spear, and perhaps the finest warrior in Imladris. Words exchanged between Lossel and the elder Elf were few and far between, but Ellorían was someone she already held in high esteem. The success of their venture was still uncertain, but her presence somehow made success seem just a little more likely. Now that the company were all assembled, Elendil's heir wasted little time in laying out his plan. The small moment that passed between Alexander and Lady Cassandra did not escape Lossel's notice, but she tucked out of her mind for the time being. There were more important matters, and soon all five of them were swept up in the Dúnadan's unfolding scheme. He'd worked hard, she had to admit, spying out this place ahead of time and determining where the primary threat lay - without, not within. If the beacons were lit, they would soon have more than a handful of Orc-slaves and hill-wolves to contend with. The plan was sound in concept, though as for how the execution would unfold, that remained to be seen. Lossel nodded. "Good. But we had better find a way to mask our scent once we're in. The wolves won't take long to pick us out from the stench of their Orc masters." She did not expect this to be a popular notion. Even the most woodcrafty, wayward Elf would be loath to touch the noisome rags of the Orcs, let alone smear their foul stink over herself. But she pulled a face and shrugged, shooting a meaningful look at her companions. "Howls in the night could be as deadly a giveaway as any signal pyre."With that out of the way, it was time to decide how the gathering would divide and conquer. She would have liked to follow Ellorían , but it seemed natural that the Imladris sisters should stay together. Lossel herself was spared the need to choose her partner; Saelnith beat her to it. Though momentarily nonplussed, Lossel quickly laid a hand over her own heart and dipped her head, returning the greeting. "Lady, it is my honour to fight by your side this night." The courtesy in her words was neither forced nor insincere. She could feel herself already beginning to warm to their guest from Mirkwood. Lossel gently ran a fingertip down her bowstring, testing the tension in the cord. Suddenly she looked up again. "But the split is uneven. What of the Dúnadan?" tags: Alexander Elessar , Cassandra Undómiel , Saelnith , Ellorían Aeglos stats: 12/12 HP | 10/10 SP

| The lives of men were fleeting sparks in the dark to an Elf, even the lives of the Dúnedain, her far-removed kindred. Alexader was not out of childhood by the reckoning of her people, and yet was accounted a man full-grown in the mortal world.
The discrepancy did not keep her from listening to his plan, of course, nor from acknowledging that it was well-thought out and that he had obviously studied the enemy for a long time before making his move. But it kindled a distant sadness in her chest, watching her foster brother speak: that her people were to be usurped in memory and legend by these children of Men, short-lived and subject to an unknown doom, the bitter gift of Eru Ilúvatar.
When her sister spoke to her, Ellorían nodded in assent, even as her mouth twisted with distaste at Lossel's words, though she could see the wisdom in then. The idea of wrapping herself in the guise of such filthy creatures was--unpleasant, to say the least, but had not her own ancestors done so in the service of great deeds?
But Lossel was not finished speaking, and Ellorían stirred briefly at her next words, tossing back her cloak and frowning.
"We are ill-numbered," she said. She did not truly know which side he would choose to go with, although she would have ventured forward a guess, if pressed. |

So no one seemed to have a problem with it. Except for the Orc part. Alex didn't get why they were all mentally cringing at the idea. He and his Rangers did this all the time to throw off their scents when they arranged an ambush. He just wrote it off as the Elves having their occasional moment of weirdness. Some things he had really come to appreciate ever since he took control of the Rangers. Chiefly, how often he got to eat meat. It was somewhat of a rarity in Imladris. But there was the issue of where he would go. Part of him contemplated going alone, but then that would leave his sisters without his protection. Which he was certain was appreciated. Surely. So naturally, the answer was to go with his sisters and make sure they were safe. And also to be close to Cassandra. That was nice too. Ah, but then they would be expecting that. They would be expecting him to know that they knew that he would choose the side with Cassandra and therefore go to the side without Cassandra. But he knew that they knew that they knew, so the idea to throw them off guard would be to naturally go with his sisters. This must have certainly looked odd to the Elves, as Alex stood there, eyes glazed over for several seconds as he followed this bizarre line of thought before snapping back to the world and nodding. "I'm more familiar with the sisters of Imladris." It was true and it seemed obvious. The Rangers operated more in Eriador than anywhere else in Middle-Earth, so it was only natural. That being said... "Oh, for the sake of pleasantries, I must say I've been rather rude." It wouldn't do for them to just know him as "ranger" or "Dúnadan" would it? These were allies. And he needed to treat them as such. "Hawke." Of course, there was a limit. The Ranger was the best they were getting, and he hoped it served as a cue to his sisters to call him that instead. Taking a moment to check his equipment, he was satisfied with the state of his sword and bow. Narsil, or what was left of it, was sharp as ever, and might prove useful in the close quarters of darkness. "We'll take the far side of the Palisade," He pointed at himself and his sisters, "And you take the near side, find some way to cloak your scents," He pointed to the other two. They were the guests. Sort of. They could take the shorter route. And with that, he shuffled through the woods to circle around the Palisade. It was go time. tags: Lossel, Cassandra Undómiel, Saelnith, Ellorían Aeglosnotes: ya'll think i'm predictable stats: 20/20 HP | 00/00 SP

DREAMED OF PARADISE EVERY TIME SHE CLOSED HER EYES Her mouth twisted into a frown at the idea of wiping such fowl, soiled things upon her person. It made a logical sense to throw off the distinct scent that her kin carried, but she sincerely disliked it. Perhaps she was a little too much of a lady after all. Cassandra would have to console herself that she would thoroughly cleanse her entire being after this mission was done. "I suppose it cannot be helped," she murmured in assent. Her carmine eyes flickered over to Estel, and she could not keep her brow from quirking in confusion. Why did his gaze seem so out of focus? Now was certainly not the time to become lost in his thoughts so idly.
It seemed he had shaken himself back to reality easily enough. Cassandra glanced back over to her sister to try and hide the fact she had been glancing in his direction for several seconds. Their numbers were odd in count. Would Estel decide to accompany herself and Ellorian? The name she heard served as a reminder to call him that in front of people outside of their family. Perhaps he would always remain Estel to her, because it was far safer to think of him like that.
Her gaze flickered over to the weapons she carried to make sure they were both in place. Her bow was a light weight over her shoulder, and she had brought a full quiver of arrows with her. Her combat prowess would be little compared to her sister or Saelnith, but she did hope to prove useful. Cassandra settled her hand over the hilt of her sword for a moment to be reassured by the familiar weight. It was a weapon she had practiced with for centuries. It dismayed her to realize how little experience in true combat that she had. As Estel moved off to circle the Palisade, she drew the hood of her cloak down to shadow her face once more. 10/10 HP 10/10 SP Sorry for the lateness. </3;
