❝come away little light; come away to the darkness. in the shade of the night we'll come looking for you. we are calling for you ––– ❞
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Patrols around the borders of her father’s kingdom were a regular occurrence for her. It was her duty as the heir to the throne to keep her the forest safe against the darkness that encroached along the borders. The creatures had been growing even more bold as of late, and she had lost count on how many spiders she had her patrol had killed during a raid upon their nests. It angered her to see more of her beloved home being taken over by this darkness, but she would not allow these spiders to gain more of a foothold than they already had. That was not the reason for her ire this day, though. Serena had come across a sight most rare within Mirkwood. She had seen much within her nigh on two thousand years within Middle Earth, but it baffled her that a lone human male would dare to enter Mirkwood so heedlessly.
It had been easy enough to subdue the male when she had caught him off guard. Serena held no malice against the race of man, but a mortal was not going to overcome an ellon so easily; especially not within this forest of which she was so familiar with. He had been quickly knocked out before she had used some spare robe to bind his wrists and ankles. She had also taken the time to bind him to a tree to ensure that he would not escape. He may be a mortal, but he could be resourceful enough to attempt to escape her bindings. Serena would learn why he had trespassed into her father’s domain so carelessly.
For now she was simply staying in a crouch before the subdued man. Amber eyes watched impassively as he began to stir from his purposed slumber. She gave him a few moments to gathe his wits before she stood and looked down upon him. “You awaken at last, I see. Do not attempt to move too much, since you are bound quite tightly enough as it is.” Not so tightly she had cut off his blood circulation, but moving around would certainly cause burns to the skin if he was careless. |

come away little lamb, come away to the water. to the arms that are waiting only for you. come away
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Orcs. Vile creatures, they were. If he had the power to do so – oh, what he wouldn’t give in order to have but a miniscule drop of it in his position – he would rid all of middle earth of their repulsive existence. He blamed himself for a great many things in the results of losing his beloved wife, and child. With his Mearna dead, all he had left was the lost child who was still out there. He’d been following clues of the baby’s whereabouts everywhere. What he didn’t anticipate was running for dear life as a small horde of Orcs ambushed the caravan he was traveling in. To make a long story short, he thought running into the woods would help keep them off of his trail. Nope.
They chased him relentlessly until he was finally deep enough into the dark woods. Where the life within the woodlands could take it from there. When he was finally a lost cause to their pursuit knowing the territory belonged to other denizens of the forest, the horde turned tail to run. A sigh of relief was exhaled. Only to have his lights knocked out and darkness took over his consciousness. While slumbering the memories of the past haunted him. Giving him a reminder of what he was living for. The only good he'd ever wished for in his long life.
When the visions began to fade his consciousness returned. At first, his vision was blurry and the ache in the back of his head was prominent. A violent flinch was released trying to gain his bearings as best as he could. When his sight was restored, he heard a voice causing his head to jerk up to see… Whoa. The single most beautiful girl he’d ever laid eyes upon. Hold on, why weren’t his limbs functioning? Shit. “I didn’t take the wood-elves to be into this sort of activity,” a susurrus amusement colored his tone. “Would mind indulging my curiosity as to why I am tied up? I mean no harm, my lady.” |

❝come away little light; come away to the darkness. in the shade of the night we'll come looking for you. we are calling for you ––– ❞
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Serena merely looked to the male with an impassive stare. His remark was met with little amusement, and she wondered if he even realized how dire his circumstances were. He was no elf friend to travel these woods without concern, and he was lucky it had been her that had come across him. Some of the elves that guarded Mirkwood were more harsh against trespassers. At least she had not shot him down first with an arrow to render him harmless. Her bow was slung over her shoulder carefully, but she remained on alert for the possibility of anyone else lingering nearby. Orcs were also a constant threat to watch out for along the borders of Mirkwood. There were no lack of dark creatures roaming the forest that attempted to encroach upon her father’s remaining borders.
“I do not care to know what activity you are alluding to.” How careless he seemed in the face of a captor that could do more harm to him should he prove willful. Serena had no such intentions if he proved himself cooperative when she brought him back with her to the dungeons. “It does not matter whether you intended harm or not. You have trespassed onto lands that belong to the elves that have called Mirkwood home for centuries. You are no elf friend and thus have no business being within our borders.” Ignorance was not an excuse to be this far into her home. Serena would learn his reasons for venturing into the forest with such carelessness.
She knelt before him once more and regarded him with cool eyes. “You will not be leaving these lands until I know the reason why you are here. If I am able to prove your reasons just, then I will see you safely from our borders. Until then, you are prisoner here.” It was a cold honesty to the consequences of his trespassing, but she considered herself a fair and just elleth. Serena would allow him to leave if she could prove the validity of his truths. It would take a little time, and she first had to lead him back to the palace. |

★ | Cassandra Undómiel | ★ | I wouldn't be amused if I was meeting someone for the first time all tied up. </3 |
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | There were many activities he’d prefer. Being tied up, or being the one doing the tying, while fun under the right circumstances wasn’t so appealing at the moment. Giving the fair-faced lass something to be proud of wasn’t something he planned on giving her. There was no honor in capturing a man who didn’t intend on being here in the first place. Sea green eyes flickered tentatively towards the no-nonsensical she-elf. “Prisoner of Mirkwood. My, my~ What an honor it is to be graced with such a title,” he mused merrily, a bitter sarcastic undertone could be heard beneath the baritone of his voice. It wouldn’t be the first time he’s been behind bars.
“Well? If you would be so kind as to bind my wrists and give my legs walking length, I would be more than happy to oblige being escorted to the dungeons, my lady.” Not really, but it was wise to cooperate for the time being. He harbored no ill-will to the inhabitants of the forest. As much as it really pissed him off to lose what precious time he had, there was no reward for the hasty save for a quick death. One Fionn had no plans on having any time soon. Many a times he’d been driven by narrow-minded desires, but none as ardent as the desire to finding his child. The baby was out there still. He would find his child even if it killed him...
He looked at his tied limbs for a moment waiting to get everything over with. His belongings were nowhere to be found. The pirate assumed that they were taken while he was out. It honestly wasn’t his plan to run into elves in the first place. Who would’ve expected them to be so uptight? “Is it truly necessary to be interrogated already so far into the woods?” he asked. He inwardly groaned at the discomfort of a journey it would be seeing as he was being sent off to the brigs. |

ღ | Fionn Larken | ღ | I'm sure he'll like it more next time he's tied up. >3> |
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Serena merely favored him with slightly narrowed eyes at his careless remark. It seemed this would not be the first time he had been captured before if the bitterness in his tone was anything to go by. His past transgressions did not concern her as long as they held no bearing on his reasons for being in Mirkwood. He should considered himself lucky that it had been herself who had found him. The race of man did not garner her ire on most occasions, and those that did travel through Mirkwood had done so in ignorance. It did not excuse them, but it held sway over whether they would be released without harm or not. “For the moment you are. Perhaps that will change in the near future if you cooperate and speak only the truth.”
A part of her bristled at being commanded by a man, but she hid it beneath her impassive expression. Serena leaned forward to deftly unknot the rope that secured him to the tree. It was coiled and stowed carefully in her quiver. She moved her hands to his bound ankles to give him the necessary rope length to walk without stumbling. He would not be able to run should he make the attempt, though. His belongings had been given to the scout that had accompanied her, so he had no weapons to attempt to overpower her with. “I trust you will be able to stand without my aid?” Amber eyes flickered to him briefly before she lithely stood herself and took a step back from him.
“If you wish to wait until you are comfortably within your cell, then so be it. I have nothing if not time, but the quicker you speak the more you will hasten your time spent here.” Serena merely looked to him with a quirked brow before turning and leading them through the familiar forest path. He had little choice but to follow her, since she was his only protection from the creatures that lurked in the darker parts of Mirkwood. |

come away little lamb, come away to the water. to the arms that are waiting only for you. come away
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | “I never took the Elves to back away from their word once it was given,” he chirped as continued with his casual, relaxed demeanor. “As I said before, I mean no harm so I’ve got nothing to lose in cooperating if it means mitigating this tedious process quicker.” That didn’t mean he had to be the complacent, docile little prisoner that whimpered at his captor’s very presence. Not that he didn’t believe she was a force to be reckoned with. In fact, he was quite enjoying the company. Much better than Orcs – not by much but she was much prettier to look at than those revolting vermin. On the bright side, Fionn wasn’t lying through his teeth. His sea green orbs remained in place never faltering or giving any sort of fleck to indicate he fibbed.
Oh, she certainly didn’t like a prisoner demanding things now, didn’t she~? Amusement glittered in his eyes at the subtle irk. The she-elf probably never held a prisoner captive before such as himself? Not many have had the pleasure to do so. That in itself was a feat very few have done. Serena just had a lucky strike. Literally! When the rope that restrained his limbs was arranged for him to walk, he picked himself up gingerly. Another winch for the ache in the back of his head.
“I was part of a caravan heading far north from my homeland,” he started. His boots snapping twigs beneath his steps mindful not to disgrace himself while following his captor. “A horde of Orcs ambushed us. We did what we could to outrun them, and defend ourselves but their numbers overwhelmed our sources. I had two others follow me in some shred of hope of escaping but…”
They didn’t make it. He couldn’t save them from the brutal slaughter. The pirate had seen some gruesome deaths in his time but none like what an Orc can do once they’ve got a hold of easy prey. “I thought to use the forest as cover, but they followed me in. I reached the heart of the forest before they gave up.” If the forest was heavily guarded by the wood elves then surely the scouts would have spotted them. They would report back to validate his story. At least, that is what he was hoping what would happen. |

❝come away little light; come away to the darkness. in the shade of the night we'll come looking for you. we are calling for you ––– ❞
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Serena never gave her word lightly, because she was one that always followed through on her oaths. A good ruler would not make empty promises that could not be kept. He was certainly relaxed for a prisoner, though. No doubt her company was preferable for a man like himself. He was not the first, nor would he be the last mortal to view her in such a way. Some believed she would have been easy to overpower simply because of her gender. An arrow aimed quite closely to their hearts often changed their attitudes in regards to her. There was no need to resort to threatening attempts when he was remaining calm. His attitude left much to be desired, but she could not pick her prisoners.
“Then you have nothing to worry about, do you?” Serena gathered he was speaking the truth to her. His gaze did not waver, and there was no hesitation in his words. His expressions had not deviated in a small manner that could indicate false statements, either. The amusement plain in his eyes was a slight annoyance to her. She hoped he would continue to feel so cheerful once she had placed him in a cell. Perhaps it would not be for long once her scouts reported back to her on the orcs that had been spotted earlier. If he had been chased by those creatures, then she could not blame him for stumbling into her people’s borders.
Serena listened in silence as he explained his story. Her eyes flickered around her surroundings carefully as she lead him forward. There was no sign of any lurking danger, but such things could change in an instant. She had more than herself to defend should anything attempt to attack them. Every snap of a twig beneath his boots presented a noise for dark creatures to follow after. Her own steps were light and near silent as she went forward. “You are lucky to have escaped with your life, then. Orcs have become more numerous as of late along forest’s edge.” They did not dare cross into the heart of Mirkwood, though. Not yet.
There was little chance of running into those twisted creatures this far into her borders. It seemed fate had sent this man careening straight into her patrol. The orcs that had escaped would be pursued and brought down for daring to come this close to their home. Serena would survey this wrecked caravan later on to corroborate his story. “Your story appears valid from what I know beforehand. I will survey the scene myself after I have placed you in a cell. I will see you to the edge of our borders once I have received word my scouts and have surveyed the scene to validate your story.” |

come away little lamb, come away to the water, to the arms that are waiting only for you. come away
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | He sure hoped she didn’t give him any reason to worry for his safety. Especially during the time frame he had these uncomfortable binds on. A morose thought danced in his mind of all the people back home who would’ve reveled at the sight of him tied up. Actually, they would probably prefer it if a noose was wrapped snug around his neck. “I have a feeling it’s not you I should feel cautious of,” he said, “It’s whatever else lies in these woods. Am I wrong?” Judging from the way she kept a sharp eye on every little turn or round about across the woodland vicnity, he would assume safely yes. There were things... perhaps creatures far worse than the Orcs of the open roads that lurked in these parts.
Lucky. That was a way of putting it lightly. Luck was a fickle bitch who favored neither the brave nor the richest. Rather, it gave a false sense of security in the vicious game of life dealing a good hand at the worst possible timing. More so than ever when it inconveniences an individual. “Aye, lass. I’ve wondered about that more frequently these days.” While he did value his life, that wasn’t going to replace the lives that were taken. The finality of it brought back morose contemplation of just how close he saw death’s edge. Bitter mortality was a good memory refresher on putting emphasis on preservation less he wanted to get his child back.
Fionn listened to her explain her next steps of handling the situation at hand. It was a rather sound plan. A small nod was given. “I guess I shouldn't get myself too comfortable, huh~ Thank you, fair lady. Pray, may I be so bold to ask the name of my winsome captor?” |

❝come away little light; come away to the darkness. in the shade of the night we'll come looking for you. we are calling for you ––– ❞
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | There was plenty to be wary of within Mirkwood. Spiders only scratched the surface of what lurked beyond the Halls of Mirkwood. Her frequent patrols with her small group of scouts often held back these creatures, but no amount of fighting would keep them away for good. It was a slowly losing battle that could be lead to a standstill for perhaps a few more centuries. “You are perceptive. Yes, there are more threats than I to be wary of. Keeping close to me ensures that I am the one they will engage in battle should we come across them.” Serena would not allow the man to die on her watch should an ambush happen. He was a prisoner until she deemed him to be released, but that did not mean he was a condemned man in her eyes. Most of the trespassers into Mirkwood were simply ignorant men.
Luck was certainly a fickle mistress when it came time to grant her favors. She did not favor the bold or the brave and many would like to think. Death was not a concept unfamiliar to the eldar, but it was much closer in heart to the race of man. Sickness did not prey upon the eldar, nor did some physical injuries that could kill a man in an instant. No, the passage of seemingly endless time weighed more heavily upon her race. Serena wondered when she would feel the pressing urge to sail west when her time came, or would she succumb to wounds upon a battlefield? It was a topic that she had thought of more often as of late.
“You may ask, but I may not answer.” Serena glanced over her shoulder at him with an enigmatic smile before leading him to the Halls of Mirkwood. The entrance was a grand one, and she merely nodded to the guards posted by the door as the bowed to her in greeting. It would not be the first time she had lead a prisoner into these halls. She lead him through twisting hallways that descended beneath the earth until it was clear where she was leading him. Serena did pick a cell that offered some comfort with a comfortable cot with fresh linen and a jug of water placed on a nearby stand. His bindings were soon removed before she locked the cell door behind her. “You will be kept here until I have corroborated your story. It may take a few hours, but food will be brought to you. If everything you have stated is the truth, then you will be free soon enough.” |

come away little lamb, come away to the water, to the arms that are waiting only for you. come away
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Well, he didn’t survive through treacherous encounters just on his good looks. Fionn knew how to act the part of a daft little whelp but he was far from it. It was all about playing the right cards at the right place and most importantly at the right time. Causing unnecessary quarrels with the elf woman would only sow further potential of his undoing. “I would despair for even a moment we must part.” Even though he meant it in harmless little flirting there was a grim truth to that statement. Arms tied up, and legs given only enough for walking distance would make him quite the easy target. The pirate just hoped that with how quick and efficient the woman was in doing her duties that the others would follow suit. In tandem, it would get him out of prison to move on with his journey.
“Very well. I don’t need you to answer,” he mused with his own charming smile, “I do not know much of Elvish culture, but I can tell when I'm in the presence of a high-born. If I didn't know any better, you're more than that~ ... a princess?” There was no doubt in his mind this woman held quite the proud spirit true to her origins. She had a sense of honor that he saw right through despite her strict and no-nonsense behavior. Though he needed to steel his idle whims for the sake of keeping back focus on what’s more important to him. Time and the continuation in searching for his child. “You uphold the law as you’ve been educated. I have no doubt it’s something that your proud parents must be quite pleased to see… however, you have a certain look about you lass. It’s in your eyes. You yearn for something more… something else you perhaps can’t find in the thickets of the foliage you call home.”
Sea green eyes soon paid a look of marvel towards the Hall of Mirkwood. He was rather impressed with the architecture. As if the very palace fit for the ruler of this realm had accommodated to nature rather than the other way around. Much contrasting than the structures mankind brought forth. None of the guards paid him worth a glimpse. Probably just thinking of the pirate as nothing more than a mere whelp with no clue as to where he was. Might as well continue that demeanor until he knew he could truly trust the woman of her word. So far, she’s never given him room to doubt but that was always the fatal mistake of most who blindly devoted their faith in a person. So when their destination finally reached a temporary stop, he was freed of his bindings, only to be put behind bars. “Fionn Larken,” he said. “My name is Fionn Larken, my lady. If by any chance you run into anyone from the caravan I was traveling with, speak it and they’ll validate my claim. Godspeed your inquisition.” |

❝come away little light; come away to the darkness. in the shade of the night we'll come looking for you. we are calling for you ––– ❞
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Serena was taken aback at his insight into her person at having known her for such a short while. Amber eyes flickered back over to him with wariness at his apt description of her. Well, she could certainly say she had never met someone quite like him in her near two thousand years of living in Middle Earth. He was a disconcerting human to be sure. Her expression remained passive as she returned her stare ahead of her. It was not such an odd thing to point out, because she had been taught to be a princess since her birth. There was no use in denying a truth that would continue to remain so until her father departed for Valinor. Serena attempted to ignore him for the moment to clear her mind from his startling words.
Her fingers twitched somewhat as he continued to speak as if he knew her very soul. It was an irksome sensation to have someone read her like an open book. Serena did not like anyone knowing of her inner, personal thoughts she often denied herself. It mattered very little if there was a ‘yearning’ in her eyes that he spoke of. Her duty remained to her kingdom and to her people before any personal desires she may hold. “Pretty words from a well-practiced mouth I assume. I will neither confirm or deny anything you have said.” Whatever he believed he knew of her did not matter in the long run. He was simply a man she would release once she had the truth of his situation and she would most likely never see him again.
Amber eyes flickered upward when he gave her his name. It would certainly give her an easier time in learning if his words were the truth. Serena felt an odd sort of urge to give him her own in return, but she quickly pushed it away. Why would he need to learn who she was? “Very well, Fionn Larken. I shall not take long.” She soon departed from the cell without a backward glance and returned to the forest. The hours passed her by as she spent her time tracking down the caravan that had escaped the orc ambush. It seemed some of the orcs had given pursuit, but she had quickly dispatched the remaining ones that attempted to engage the survivors. She was rewarded with their gratitude and their knowledge of the man known as Fionn Larken.
Serena spent her time traveling back with a pensive expression and a heavy heart. His words had been a partial truth, but he had not revealed he was seeking out a child. It was an unfathomable experience to be parted from one’s child before even knowing the babe. Her own kind cherished their children fiercely with how rare childbirth could be. She returned to the Hall and took the twisting hallways that descended into the dungeon. He remained where she had left him, but she did not move to release him just yet. She paused before his cell and looked to him with a slightly sorrowed expression. “You did not speak of searching for a child. Is this the heart of your truth for mistakenly trespassing into Mirkwood?” |

come away little lamb, come away to the water, to the arms that are waiting only for you. come away
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Fionn smiled softly at her incessant refusal. Her confirmation or denial in reading her so openly was not needed. True, it would’ve been nice if she was honest with her sentiments on the matter but many could not grow that fond of strangers so quickly. If they did then perhaps it wouldn’t be much of a challenge. Easy achievements didn’t prove good form especially for a man such as the blonde. No, open admittance wasn’t something he needed because he could tell it threw her for a loop on how easy it was for him to read her. Knowing that he found a means to get under her skin would prove this encounter all the more interesting.
Ah~ Despite having gotten to the point of enjoying her company for the moment, it was time for her to search for validation of his story. She left him into dwell in his prison cell. Not the best accommodations he’s been given for being thrown in the brig. Then again, he’s seen some slimy prison places in his time as a pirate. There wasn’t much room to complain with how much nicer the elves kept their dungeons. He padded down his pockets finding them empty. Even the rum was gone. Damn it. With nothing but time on his hands, he had to figure out another way to pass it by.
Come away little lass, come away to the water To the ones that are waiting only for you
He didn’t realize his voice would travel through the echoes of the dungeons. Fionn wasn’t quite fond of hearing himself back. Still, there was nothing else to be done while the hours were spent with the elf-woman’s investigation. Try as he may, singing the little shanty helped keep his mind from dwelling in pensive thoughts. Where was his child? How were they doing? Damn it, was it even a boy or girl? He damned himself for never asking that before his wife drew her last breath.
Come away little lass, come away to the water Away from the life that you always knew We are calling to you
Time passed by but how long the pirate lost track. It was hard to tell with the confinements of the small quarters offered in the prison cell. When he was starting to believe nothing was changing, he heard footsteps drawing towards him. Sea green eyes looked up to the other side of the bars. There she stood, beautiful but her expression quickly turned morose. He would’ve made a witty comment except he was cut off by her accusation. Yes, he did speak in half-truths. What he didn’t expect was for her to discover his true intentions. His lips thinned a small line across his mouth. His thick brows furrowed at the question. “You’ll have to forgive my misgivings. See, information is a powerful thing – some may say it rivals that of actual magic. I didn’t know whether or not I could trust you with such vital information,” he explained, “but aye lass… ‘tis the heart of my purpose.” |

❝come away little light; come away to the darkness. in the shade of the night we'll come looking for you. we are calling for you ––– ❞
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Serena could not quite understand the sorrow at having a child torn away from her. All she could remember was her mother being taken away when she was quite young, but the painful echo remained within her heart. She did not even have the consolation of being able to know that one day she would meet with her again in the Undying Lands. No, her mother’s soul now dwelt within the Halls of Mandos for all of eternity. Was this akin to the pain he felt at being separated from his child? No doubt a few would accuse her of having too soft of a heart when it came to these things. Some would say that his reasons would not matter for her had trespassed into their borders without consent. Serena simply could not hold him here when she had given him her word, and she now knew the truth behind his reasons. She had become quite adept at being able to tell when someone was lying to her over the years.
She knew she should feel more frustrated that he had not given her the entire truth when she had asked him. He had been the one to trespass, and he was the one that owed her his reasons as to why. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she listened to him. “Many would expect me to leave you here for not revealing the entirety of your situation. Perhaps I should, but it would be wrong of me to do so.” Serena reached for the key she kept on her and unlocked the door to his cell slowly. Hopefully this trust she was placing in him would not come back to haunt her. There was no rope to bind him with, since she was expecting him not to make the attempt to sneak an attack upon her. His belongings would be returned to him and she would guide him to the edge of Mirkwood’s borders as promised.
“Your belongings are up ahead, and I have put together some lembas bread to see you through your journey. It should last you quite a long while if you ration it carefully.” Her expression was impassive as she looked to him before she turned and lead him down the hallway. Soon enough there was a sign of his belongings. Whatever weapons and other trinkets he had carried on him that she had carefully stripped from his person when she had rendered him unconscious. She would pray that his endeavors to find his child were successful. |

come away little lamb, come away to the water, to the arms that are waiting only for you. come away
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | What the people expect of her. The thought of such notions tempted a laugh but he schooled it down to a mild look of amusement. “I don’t doubt you wouldn’t have it in you to do what your people expect of you,” he smiled softly, “but sometimes rulers of great lands struggle with the moral line: do the people listen to their betters or do their betters listen to them?” The Captain of Umbar knew quite well such philosophy didn’t apply in his country. It was all a matter of who had the strongest will to see their ambitions through. Could such a volatile place be changed of it’s ways? He did fear for what it’ll become should it remain it’s stagnant chaotic state. Whatever foolish cretin who had the balls to try to take his seat of power, there wasn’t a doubt in his mind they would want to march forth to obtain more lands.
More than they could chew. It’s been a toyed thought in his mind about conquest, but what good are all the riches in the world if there was nobody to spread the legacy of obtaining it? He learned pretty quickly that baubles and glittering gold… earthly pleasures and materials lost their luster in years. The people who came and went in his life didn’t. “You’re more honorable than anyone I’ve known in my life, my lady,” he gave the genuine compliment to her, “Morality aside, I’m sure you wouldn’t want to put it upon the child’s mind, should they come to understanding, his or her parent is no where to be found. What fair would it be to have a hand at keeping a parent away from a child?”
When the door opened, he stood up slowly pacing himself out of the cell. Sea green eyes flickered up at his things already prepared for his departure and a few extra things offered by the she-elf. Ever appropriate but exceptionally kind for her title. A grin formed across his lips as he stared a little longer at the fairer company. “I still never got your name.” |

❝come away little light; come away to the darkness. in the shade of the night we'll come looking for you. we are calling for you ––– ❞
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | There was much that was expected of her. Serena had spent nearly two thousand years learning to do her duty and being the heir her father needed. Hearing a stranger offer insights into her life was still disconcerting, though. Did he do this with every stranger he came across? Perhaps it was a quality of man she had not noticed before. She looked to him with a slightly wary expression at his words before she shook her head. “I shall do what is needed of me.” There was nothing more she could offer than those words. Her people meant very much to her, and she had always taken her role as their princess seriously. Serena made sure to protect her home from the encroaching darkness that lingered within Mirkwood for as long as she could remember. It was all she had ever known for nearly two thousand years.
Was she honorable? Serena glanced back to Fionn with unreadable eyes. No, she would never knowingly separate a parent from a child. That sort of love was unknown to her, but she knew of the love of a child to their parent. She loved her father dearly and would be heartbroken once he did choose to sail to the Undying Lands. “And I am not doing so. Children are precious to the eldar, and losing even one is an unfathomable pain I doubt even the shores of Valinor could erase.” No doubt a few would protest her decision for allowing him to go at her own discretion, but the only one who could question her would not learn of her decision until later on. Hopefully Fionn would be well on his way by then.
His stare was becoming as disconcerting as his words. Had he never looked upon an elleth before? Serena nearly glanced away as slight embarrassment welled within her. It was an emotion she had not felt in quite some time. It was quickly masked with another impassive expression as she merely looked away from Fionn. “…Serena. Now follow me so I can lead you from here without further incident.” She swept from the room and lead him down another twisting of hallways that lead to a back entrance of the halls. Her word had been given about leading him safely to the borders after all. |
