come away little lamb, come away to the water, to the arms that are waiting only for you. come away
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | “Indeed, you will,” he agreed nonchalantly, “but is it what you want, love?” All he had was basic knowledge. Being one of the first races to walk on middle earth granted them a life of immortality. That of which many of his own kind could only waste away years in trying to obtain. Fionn knew she'd probably outlive him too potentially. Still, he had to wonder just how often was it that she got to do the things that truly made her heart feel alive? “You wish to travel outside of your forest home. Not because of your duty but rather to fulfill a need for adventure across middle-earth. Your tutelage can paint pictures in your mind but trust me, lass. It’s much better if you see the things you wish to see in the world in person.”
Hopefully, the signs of where he was taking this conversation could be found. He didn’t care for subtle games or dropping hints to make some grand unveiling of his intentions. The she-elf had a good head on her shoulders. A mind open to most would close off for the sake of upholding their sense of justice and duties before the realms they serve. “I could use a woman of your caliber assisting me in my journey. Your services would not go unrewarded either. T'would serve a very good cause, I dare say.”
At the very least, he gave his offer out there in both a personal and formal manner. There were just some things in life worth trading all the riches for. His child so happened to be that sole reason. When they came to the location where his things were being held, he took his time getting everything in order. “A pleasure to meet you too, Serena,” he purred softly. He gestured for his gracious hostess to lead the way back to the entrance hall out of the palace. “You don’t have to answer me immediately. My destination is Lake Town. See if I can find information on the people who took my child before the raid on my village. The investigation will take some time. Enough to give it some thought I'm sure~” |

❝come away little light; come away to the darkness. in the shade of the night we'll come looking for you. we are calling for you ––– ❞
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Serena felt herself at a loss for words once again. What exactly was his game with these insights of his? Perhaps she did yearn for more than what Mirkwood could provide, but she had been content for centuries to serve her people and her father. It was frightening that the desire in her heart could be so easily read by a complete stranger. Amber eyes remained straight ahead as she attempted to drown his voice out. It was far easier said than done as his words slid beneath her skin and burned in her blood. “I have seen more of Middle Earth than perhaps you believe. I have lived longer than you may believe.” The words were a weak attempt at deflection, but she was not having such a personal conversation with a mortal man.
He was far more tempting than he had any right to be. She had an inkling of why he was speaking such a way now. Perhaps it was the kindness and sympathy she had shown his cause, but it was what any decent elleth or man should do. “I would not wish for a reward, even if I were to give such an offer consideration.” Pretty trinkets did not capture her attention like they did her father. Serena was not lacking in such things given her station, and she would not take payment in aiding someone to find their child. Not that she was going to agree to such a thing! How could she possibly abandon her post and people when orc raids had gone up? It surprised her that she was even reacting so strongly to this when it should be easy to simply decline his offer.
He left her feeling like a young, bashful elfling with how he spoke her name and looked at her. Serena was not quite sure she enjoyed the sensation and merely narrowed her eyes at him in warning. She turned and lead the way through the halls as he gestured for her to do. Silence was her only answer as she lead him through the entrance hall and back into the forest. His voice was still echoing through her mind at his offer. A part of her did wish to aid him in searching for his child, while the hidden part of her heart yearned for some sort of adventure. Soon enough the borders of the forest came into view as she lead him to the safest path towards Lake-town. “If you are so keen upon my answer, then I will give it to you, then. I will most likely decline, but I wish you the best of luck on your endeavors, Fionn.” |

MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | She gave him truths that he couldn’t argue with but he saw passed her defenses. He had no desire to damage her pride thus allowed the lass some mercy of letting the topic be as it may. Fionn couldn’t help but find her poor defenses to keep a safe distance endearing. The pirate captain found amusement in what context did it mean to truly live a fulfilled life. The blonde wanted to believe he found the reason when he settled down with a family. With his wife gone, a child somewhere out there in another family’s cares. He couldn’t just sit around waiting for a miracle to happen.
He saw an internal struggle ignite in her eyes as she refused the offer of a reward. It took some will-power but he schooled his expression from appearing far too amused for his safety in mind. She was actually thinking about it~ Temptation was a very sweet thing to offer somebody. He didn’t realize that elves were susceptible to such notions. Not that he did this sort of thing to any woman he came across. It was already hard enough to move on after his beloved’s death. “Never said my reward had to be in a materialistic form,” he winked playfully. He couldn’t help himself with that one.
The rest of the travel remained in silence. Sea green eyes traveled their scenery through the dark thickets of brush and trees. Now that he had a better look at the details there wasn’t a doubt in his mind he didn’t wish to be here on his own. Or without assistance from the wood-elves. When they reached the borders between the woods and the safest passage way to Lake Town he smiled back at the brunette. His hand took the liberty to grasp her palm lifting up so he could brush his lips over her knuckles with a feathered kiss. “You have my thanks, Princess Serena of Mirkwood. May our paths cross again in the future. Sooner than later, I hope~” |
